Is it true that the sound on Super8 film is about a foot ahead of the frame. If so, how do you go about editing that?

It is either 18 or 24 frames ahead. As for editing sound-on-film. I am not to sure I never do. Good luck.

The sound is ALWAYS 18 frames ahead of the image - the sound head is physically 18 frames ahead of the gate. The easiest way to edit sound striped film is to use a sound head attached to your editor and edit from the sound, not the picture. Or you could buy a sound editor, with the sound head already built in and a motor drive. If you want more info feel free to email me - Pete at [email protected]. Good luck.
